The mission of the Southerners, a group of Christian believers of the southern heritage, comes together to fellowship, celebrate and remember our southern roots. Believing in the one God who reveals Himself as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; our goal is to partner with other anointed men and women of faith whom God has called to serve. The spiritual root of the Southerners Christian culture makes it a foundation that can sustain traditional rights. One of the scriptures that is impressed upon our hearts, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Philippians 3:13-14. It is our loving God who has emboldened us to walk by faith and not by sight; he is the same God, who will walk with us, hand in hand, the rest of the way. As it is written, “if He leads you to it, he will see you through it; as Dr. Martin Luther King so eloquently stated, “We shall overcome, someday.” We the members of the Southerners shall overcome, and will overcome as we continue rejoicing and praising our Lord Jesus Christ.

We also partner with local food programs to accommodate requests. Boxes are distributed on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. However, in the case of an emergency, we make every effort to handle requests on an individual case basis. Volunteers are always welcomed to help distribute boxes and donations are accepted as the number of clients served is ever increasing and we desire to reach as many needy families as possible.
